Went out for a leisurely 50km ride this afternoon just as the sun was starting to set and oh, the bucolic beauty of Prince Edward County in the autumn. Turning the pedals with ease, gliding along the roads, sailing softly past the barns and farm houses. No mountains, no racing, just quiet, peaceful cycling alone on nearly empty roads.
I thought about the struggles that dear friends are going through right now, as well as the triumphs I'd achieved over the past year. I visited with mum, updating her on the various happenings in my life. Back on the bike, I just rode and smiled and loved. It was just right. And as a friend observed, just right is, just right.
